Concept and mechanism
A Foundry application combines a project, models, tools, data, and identities. Select the model for the task using representative evaluations, considering quality, latency, and cost. Resource location alone does not define where the model processes requests: confirm deployment type and published boundary. Data Zone refers to the Microsoft-defined zone; do not assume it means one country. Reserved capacity and data residency are distinct decisions. Work without interactive urgency can benefit from supported Batch processing, subject to service timing and contract. The SDK requires compatible endpoints and versions; for project operations, confirm project context instead of reusing an address from another contract.
Guided application
In a fictional release, record code, agent version, model, index, tools, and approved configuration. Creating a version does not mean the public application serves it; observe actual routing. The CI/CD identity receives permissions matching required operations and scope. Check each network dependency from the runtime using it. Measure calls and tokens per complete execution: eight internal calls can increase cost and throttling even with constant user traffic. Acceptance combines per-segment quality, safety, performance, and recovery. A 30% saving does not waive critical-case criteria. Retain test evidence and rollback conditions so APS can operate and explain the change.
The pipeline published version 4, but the endpoint serves version 3: check application deployment before retraining or changing the prompt.
Common pitfalls
Resource region as processing boundary; created version as served version; final-answer cost as total cost; average as acceptance of every segment.
