Concept and mechanism

Diagnosis starts with the observed symptom, affected population, and change timing. Compare errors and latency with traffic, saturation, and release events; temporal coincidence suggests a hypothesis rather than proving cause. Use traces to locate segments and correlated logs to explain events while retaining sampling limitations. Also inspect collection health so telemetry silence is not mistaken for recovery. When instances diverge, compare version, dependencies, and load before collapsing everything into one average. Record a hypothesis, an observation that would support it, and one that would contradict it. A rollback should follow agreed authority and criteria, considering data compatibility and the change's effects.

Guided application

In the selected Dynatrace Classic documentation, HTTP monitors exercise requests and browser monitors can follow a defined navigation path. HTTP 200 on the home page does not establish that authentication, search, and confirmation work. Choose suitable location and access for internal applications, controlled test credentials, and actions avoiding real business effects. The result covers that path and those conditions without guaranteeing all users' experience. During APS handover, deliver indicators with units and windows, query permissions, runbooks, escalation criteria, and alert ownership. Include known instrumentation limits and a way to verify data freshness. The banking example is fictional and does not describe internal BNP Paribas rules.
