True Cache, reservations, and audit evidence

Recognize consistency, concurrency, and integrity limits of new features.

Concept and mechanism

True Cache serves consistent reads that may lag behind the primary. A just-committed operation can remain absent without data loss. A read-after-write contract needs a validated route. When observing lag, inspect DATA_TIME: a sample that stopped advancing does not establish current synchronization. Lock-Free Reservations handles numeric delta updates on reservable columns, with expression and row-identification restrictions. It avoids row locks during reservation but can acquire them briefly at commit. Transactions still commit and roll back; the feature name promises neither absence of every wait nor permission to spend another transaction uncommitted increments. Validate feature eligibility and release prerequisites before including it in a production design.

Guided application

In a fictional portal, do not replay a financial write merely because a cache read omits confirmation. Use correlation and a read route matching freshness requirements. In an audit architecture, blockchain tables add tamper resistance and detection through hash chains, with retention rules and signature options. They do not establish that the feeder supplied truthful data. Add reconciliation and correction events linked to the source. The audit trail also needs capacity, archival, and supported purge, preserving required evidence before removal. These features require owners and operational criteria; none replaces business validation or responsibility for received data. Distinguish technical integrity from the meaning of the event being recorded.

IN PRACTICE

Low APPLY_LAG with static DATA_TIME: investigate telemetry age before promising current reads.

Common pitfalls

Cache as latest; lock-free as no locks; hash as truth; purge without archival.
