Network+: networking and production diagnosis
Prepare for Network+ through networking, operations, security, and production diagnosis scenarios.
Objectives and progression
Seven lessons, 35 regular questions, and five original cases with an internal 26-decision assessment in 45 minutes. First pass through five N10-009/V9 domains using fictional banking examples of VLANs, DHCP, remote access, MTU, and recovery. Includes evidence-based reasoning and calculations for addressing, PoE, SLA, and RTO/RPO. It is not exhaustive coverage of every subobjective and does not reproduce official performance-based items.
Audience: APS/L2/L3 teams, network administrators, and technical infrastructure managers.
Prerequisites: Basic systems and networking knowledge. CompTIA recommends A+ and 9–12 months of hands-on experience in a junior networking role; this recommendation is not presented as a mandatory prerequisite.
220 estimated study minutes
- Locate failure and size address space without confusing network, transport, and application.
- Distinguish translation, encryption, IPv6 scope, and effective redundancy.
- Interpret routes, trunks, STP, and physical limits before changing production.
- Prepare DNS, DHCP, observability, and RUN handover criteria.
- Restrict access and validate what each control actually demonstrates.
- Form hypotheses proportionate to collected signals.
- Diagnose size-dependent failures, congestion, and apparent recovery.
Modules
- Layers, subnets, and addressing plans
