Testing, diagnosis, and operations

Turn rules and hypotheses into evidence support can reproduce.

Concept and mechanism

Financial-integration acceptance should cover valid messages, expected rejections, and business effects using synthetic data. Separate tests for structure, constraints, profile, mapping, and consumer behavior. Include partial outcomes, redelivery, messages outside the agreed version, divergent external lists, and boundary fields. Identity used for correlation and deduplication should come from the concrete contract rather than an invented universal rule. Retaining artifact versions with outcomes permits test reproduction and explains changes. This course demonstrates reasoning and local verification models; it does not execute a complete ISO validator or establish conformance on a real banking network.

Guided application

For monitoring, combine processing rate with rejection by rule and version, data loss, pending-item age, and manual intervention. Higher throughput can coexist with lost references and greater reconciliation work. The runbook should explain evidence collection, profile expertise, and reprocessing authority. In an incident, begin with the observed difference: if only the prefix changed while URI stayed equal, investigate textual parser dependency before changing schemas. Before handover, ask the shift to reproduce a diagnosis and explain its decision. Operations should distinguish transport, validation, and semantic failure without permanent dependence on the authors.

IN PRACTICE

Example: p:Document becomes pay:Document with the same URI. A test should demonstrate expanded-name selection; temporarily restoring the prefix can mitigate while the parsing defect still needs repair.

Common pitfalls

Health check treated as functional acceptance; happy-path-only tests; disk configuration treated as loaded version; delivered documentation treated as demonstrated autonomy.
