Concept and mechanism
A feature may return the correct amount while remaining difficult to use. In a fictional portal, an operator sees two similar actions, confirm and save, but one sends the instruction. A usability investigation observes representative people performing tasks, including difficulties, errors, and recovery. Define what you want to learn before the session and avoid steering the person toward the correct button. Accessibility also requires considering different interaction methods. Initial checks of keyboard access, focus, and field identification can reveal important barriers, but do not constitute a complete conformance evaluation. One person succeeding with one assistive technology does not represent all people, tasks, and configurations.
Guided application
In a migration project, distinguish flexibility and compatibility objectives. Installing a new version, adapting the application to a supported environment, or replacing a component requires specific preparation and criteria. Two systems may exchange messages successfully while interpreting the same monetary unit differently; that requires investigation of semantic interoperability. Two applications in the same environment may interfere through shared resources, creating a coexistence issue. Describe actual test conditions and the limited conclusion they support. APS needs to know which version combination was exercised, which human tasks were observed, and which situations remain unknown. Reporting should support an informed decision without turning a small experiment into a universal quality claim.
Delivered messages do not demonstrate that both systems interpret units identically.
Common pitfalls
Coached task treated as usability; initial check treated as full conformance; transport treated as semantics.
