Concept and mechanism
Improvement starts by connecting useful direction with the observed situation and intended outcome. Define what is measured before promising a reduction. If handover time now ends at credential delivery rather than APS rehearsal, the two numbers are not directly comparable. Reconstruct consistent definitions or establish a new baseline, declaring the historical limitation. Choose assessment according to the question. To know whether a team can recover an application, an authorized representative rehearsal gives different evidence from confirming document reading. Define criteria, conditions, and outcome recording before execution.
Guided application
Prioritize improvements through impact, frequency, risk, cost, and dependencies. A frequent low-impact problem may compete with a rare one disrupting daily close. For automation, include maintenance: 60 initial hours, ten monthly hours saved, and two maintenance hours yield eight net hours per month and effort break-even after 7.5 months of use. This is not complete financial return. After implementation, compare outcomes and unintended effects. In incident learning, investigate conditions and available information alongside individual action. Keep owners, capacity, and feedback within regular work so improvement continues after the first project.
60 ÷ (10 − 2) = 7.5 months compares effort under constant values; monetary costs and additional benefits were not calculated.
Common pitfalls
Target without baseline; reading as capability; gross savings as net; delivery as benefit; lessons without actions.
