Concept and mechanism
The documented Git integration for Studio and App Engine Studio works with application metadata in nonproduction instances. Commits, branches, and tags help identify changes and versions; they do not by themselves install production or back up transactional data. Only changes committed to the repository become available to other developers through that repository. Before promotion, compare the intended commit or version with the content actually validated. Distribution can involve the application repository or update sets according to the supported context. Confirm dependencies, environment-specific credentials, and configuration that must not travel as embedded secrets. A technically importable package still needs functional and operational acceptance.
Guided application
Delegated development grants specific capabilities within an application without turning every developer into a global administrator. Source-control, deletion, and deployment permissions are distinct; confirm the person’s required task and scope. Code review should look for ACL changes, client-returned data, external calls, and repeated effects as well as style. For a fund-exception release, connect the approved artifact to installation, validation, and recovery plans. Update-set preview may reveal collisions or missing objects requiring an explicit decision. The dr.pt final assessment reuses course decisions to guide review. The CAD blueprint specifies sixty questions and ninety minutes; the official threshold is not public, and completing this course does not award the credential.
An approved tag identifies metadata; installation and validation still require evidence.
Common pitfalls
Git treated as automatic deployment; developer treated as admin; package treated as acceptance.
