Document structure and semantics
Organize HTML according to content function, declare metadata and language, and diagnose differences between templates and the parsed tree. Separate meaning, identity and presentation.
65 minLinks, images and content meaning
Build links and images whose meaning survives presentation changes. Resolve relative paths, distinguish text alternatives and retain header relationships in a simple table.
65 minForms, controls and submission
Interpret control association, submitted pairs and the influence of the chosen button. Distinguish identity, name, state and form ownership.
65 minConstraints, feedback and accessibility
Interpret native constraints and the limits of each validation path. Communicate usable errors while retaining server checks.
65 minCascade, inheritance and selector contracts
Determine which declaration supplies a value and distinguish matching, precedence, inheritance and invalidity after substitution.
65 minBox model, flow and overflow
Calculate dimensions, locate positioning references and distinguish containment, clipping and scrolling. Explain margin and flow effects without attributing every problem to width.
65 minFlexbox and Grid layout
Organize components by axes and tracks, calculate available space and diagnose minimums and visual reordering.
65 minResponsive design and media queries
Adapt content to available width, interpret media queries and align image hints with layout. Preserve zoom, reading and access to actions.
65 minFocus, states, motion and user preferences
Keep interaction states identifiable and adapt presentation to user preferences. Distinguish appearance, focus and functional behavior.
65 minDiagnosing styles and delivery
Distinguish resource delivery, parsing, relevance, cascade and final values. Diagnose publishing changes without hiding their cause behind overrides.
65 minObjectives and progression
Learn HTML and CSS through structure, forms, cascade, responsive layout and diagnosis. Original single- and multiple-choice questions and cases, without code execution.
Audience
People starting web development and professionals who need to interpret interfaces, review content and diagnose presentation problems.
Prerequisites
Basic browser use and reading short excerpts. No framework knowledge, tool installation or code execution is required to answer assessments.
What you will learn
- Structure content and interpret form controls.
- Resolve cascade, inheritance and sizing under explicit assumptions.
- Interpret responsive layout, focus and user preferences.
- Distinguish resource delivery, parsing and style application.
What is available
10 lessons · 100 regular questions · 20 cases
Internal final assessment: 40 exercises in 90 minutes. Full mock exams are not yet available.
Assessments and mock exams reuse path exercises. They do not award certifications or guarantee passing an external exam.
Scope, review and limitations
Ten lessons with 100 regular questions and 20 original cases. Learn to interpret documents, links, images and forms, resolve the cascade, calculate boxes, organize Flexbox and Grid, and diagnose states and style delivery. The baseline is the HTML Living Standard and CSS modules documented in each topic’s sources, without assuming a single CSS version. Every assessment uses single or multiple choice, including excerpts and scenarios, without running code. The final assessment reuses 40 items in 90 minutes. JavaScript, TypeScript and frameworks have separate paths.
Internal 40-question assessment in 90 minutes, reusing course items, with single or multiple choice and no code execution. It is not an official exam, awards no external certification and does not certify a site’s accessibility.
Independent education and assessment with original questions and scenarios. No affiliation, authorization, sponsorship or endorsement by WHATWG, W3C or Mozilla, and no official certification award.
