Concept and mechanism
A viewpoint guides construction of a view through concerns and conventions; a view is a concrete representation of architecture. An application owner and a finance owner may need different information about the same service. Choose elements and detail for the decision while retaining links to the shared model. In Archi, changing the viewpoint can constrain the palette and mark elements outside that selection. This does not demonstrate that those elements disappeared from architecture. Distinguishing model from view is especially important during deletion: removing a concept from the model can affect every view referencing it.
Guided application
Automatic validation can detect invalid relationships, duplicate names, or unused elements depending on enabled rules. It does not demonstrate that a service exists, inventory is complete, or an objective was achieved. Combine formal checking with meaning review and operational evidence. For Foundation preparation, practice recognizing concepts and interpreting examples; the official Part 1 exam has forty questions, sixty minutes, and no reference access. This independent course uses original questions and an internal assessment with its own format, including multiple-response practice. Completion does not award certification. Archi is one learning option rather than an exam requirement. Keep language and tool versions separate when consulting documentation or comparing models.
A validator without warnings does not prove that the model matches production.
Common pitfalls
Viewpoint treated as complete architecture; disabled rule treated as resolved issue; tool treated as exam requirement.
