LFCS: Linux administration in production
Prepare for LFCS through Linux services, networking, storage, identities, and operational decisions.
Objectives and progression
Seven lessons, 35 regular questions, and five original cases with an internal 26-decision assessment in 45 minutes. First pass through the current five LFCS domains with fictional banking examples of batch, proxy, XFS growth, open logs, and ACLs. systemd, libvirt, Docker, and RHEL examples identify their context; no particular exam distribution is assumed. Reasoning and diagnosis preparation without an executable terminal or exhaustive coverage of every subobjective.
Audience: Linux administrators, APS/L2/L3 teams, and technical managers coordinating infrastructure and operations.
Prerequisites: Linux, shell, and networking fundamentals recommended. Linux Foundation states no formal LFCS prerequisites; practice in an authorized lab remains important.
220 estimated study minutes
- Distinguish service definition, the current process, and behavior after boot.
- Maintain trust, persistence, and access control during platform changes.
- Separate listener, route, resolution, and server identity.
- Verify the composed service, including persistent configuration and dependencies.
- Separate physical capacity, logical volume, filesystem, and mount dependencies.
- Interpret capacity, processes, certificates, and automation outcomes.
- Connect names, numeric IDs, effective permissions, and process context.
Modules
